A space-efficient download and a large library of transition effects boost what is otherwise an average slide-show-creation tool. Photo Slide Show's nonresizable interface is rather bland and businesslike, but has clearly labeled icons for all its important features, as well as a preview window. Creating a slide show from your digital photos and adding a soundtrack is a painless affair. The application lets you specify the length of each slide and transition, but you can't add a separate music track for each frame. We were impressed with the wealth of available transitions and were glad to be able to choose whether to apply them at random or in a designated order. Once you're happy with your creation, you can change the resolution and save it in a number of different video codecs, but since you can't generate an executable file, the program isn't a very good bet for professional use. We also should note the trial version won't let you make a slide show longer than one minute. Still, Photo Slide Show offers enough functionality to please the majority of casual users.
