From the developer: "PentaZip is a powerful, award-winning compression software program and file viewer.PentaZip has earned all three Microsoft logos: Designed for Windows 98/NT, Certified for Windows 2000 Professional and Designed for Windows XP.

Added to Version 5.0: (1)new user configurable interface, (2)ZGB (ZipGigaByte) a 64 bit format (for NTFS based systems such as XP, NT and Win2000) that overcomes the 4GB limit of the ZIP algorithm. (3) Viewer both from inside compressed archives and from Windows Explorer. New formats include Autocad DWG and DXF, Word DOC, Excel XLS, Animated GIF, Multimedia (MP3, MPG, AVI, etc.)

PentaZip is compatible with almost every compression format on the market including PKZip version 2.04g and older ZIP versions 1.0 and 1.1. Other compatible formats are ZOO, RAR, ARJ, ARC, CAB, LHa/LZH, TAR, Gzip, Z, BH, JAR and Ace. SelfExtracting (including a splitter for creating multivoulume SFX). No additional software is required.

Encode and decode email attachments created using UUencode, MIME-64, XXEncode and BinHex. Drag and Drop. Built in Scripting and Scheduler. Scripts, any .EXE program or .BAT file can be scheduled to run at the time you want. Other features include Zip and Unzip simultaneously. Interfaces most Antivirus programs. Support for most email programs. 9 different compression levels. Multi-volume ZIP archives. Add, update (refresh) or delete files in a ZIP Archive without unzipping. Search for specific files inside any supported Zip archive. Execute files from a Compressed archive. If necessary, its associated program will open allowing you to use the contents, modify and resave back in the original Zip archive. Command Line mode under DOS. Compress files from multiple directories at the same time. Standard password protection. Test and repair damaged Zip archives."
