"Nothing to see here. Don't waste your time."
Pros: Perfect for people who want 'free' ads when they use the product.
Cons: Has anyone at Download.com actually reviewed this product before offering it for download? It has nothing to do with proper editing of PDFs. Once you install the download, you have to go to their site to install another program. What a joke. PDF995's software does basic PDF creation, NOT editing. It has ads in them, so they're not really free. If you want to edit text and objects in PDFs, look at things like Foxit Edit, Nitro PDF Editor and CAD KAS Editor.

Version: PdfEdit995 6.73
Pros: I didn't like anything about it...
Cons: It was NOT free. Had to go to the developer's website and download about three other ad-supported programs in order to run this one. The ease of use was horrible... I tried to register, searching around everywhere for a way to, but the software did not provide a way to enter a key (the key cost $10.) The whole thing was a pain...

Version: PdfEdit995 6.73
Pros: It's a small download?
Cons: Too many steps to actually obtain the components you need, displays ads, fundamental violation of the K.I.S.S. principle.

"Nagware Yes... But I haven't found anything better for what it can do"
Pros: I like creating being able to create bookmarks, watermarks, page numbers, etc for my pdfs. I've explored several freeware options, but none have given me all the options that this program provides.
It is free, I've been using it for almost 2 years and haven't paid a dime.
Cons: I don't care for the popups that steal focus and won't close for 15 seconds. I don't like that you can't use it on pdfs that weren't created with the pdf995 print driver. Or that you can only use it on the most recently created pdf.
The bad title of 'pdfEdit995' sounds like it gives the ability to edit pdf files, which isn't the case. This program only allows you to add certain features to pdf that you'd previously created with the pdf995 print driver.
Nevertheless... I can't find another free program to replace it... so far as I can tell, it's the best freeware for what it does. So I'll continue to put up with its quirks. And since I'm too cheap to pay the $10 to get the paid version... I'll put up with the popups too! :-)
