Pazera Free Video to iPod Converter is an application which converts the most popular video files (AVI, MPEG, MP4, FLV, or MOV) into iPod / iPhone/Apple TV videos (MP4, MOV). You can also extract audio tracks from video files to MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF format. Application allows you to convert full movie or selected range only. You can limit output file size and set many parameters used by encoder. The Pazera Free Video to iPod Converter interface is very simple and user-friendly. To convert video files, just drag & drop them into main window, select proper profile from list, and click the CONVERT button. If the video quality is poor, increase video bitrate.
Version 1.1 includes a new version of the FFmpeg encoder, adds support for new video codec - H.264, volume control, and support for additional FFmpeg command line parameters.

Pros
You can upload your converted mp4 file to your ipod just fine as long as you figure out the correct encoding settings. Runs a little slow on my system but works perfectly. Also good for just reducing file size.
Cons
To figure out the correct encoding settings for your ipod to accept the file, it's just trial and error. Keep trying different output settings for the file your converting. You'll figure out which one works.

Converts into MP4 and the MP4 can be loaded into iTunes but NOT to the Ipod...for that I think you have to BUY the actual version. No chance to evaluate

This product seems to be a case of "bait and switch". I was willing to pay for a product and found a free one that works 100% of the time - 'Free Video to Ipod Convertor 3.1.2.1' and it even fixes corrupted WMV files !

Summary
automatic settings for audio bitrate or sampling frequency don't sense either from the incoming file, no automatic FPS or bitrate change during multi-file conversion (meaning all video must be the same quality if your doing a batch conversion) not cool at all, but if I knew how I'd edit it... also it would be nice to delete the old files automatically after conversion and if I could rip them back off my iPod at my friends house as well I would purchase this program in a second!

Output video works fine when playing on the computer, although a bit blurry.
Cons
Takes long time to convert. Output video doesn't work in Nokia 5800, although it otherwise supports the format.

After an exhaustingly long search for a *free* software that could convert my videos to mp4, i found this greatly satisfying. It IS quite slow, could take an hour, but definitely gets the job done well.

To those iphone users who cant get it to upload to your phone. You have to select output format as "MP4(MPEG4-AAC) and that does the trick. It worked for me. I converted onthe default setting and it game me the same message that i couldnt upload it ot my iphone so with that file, i just "converted it to play on ipod/iphone" in the itunes Advanced menu. That does the trick if you already converted your avi file and don't want to redo it.

I have tried several setting configurations, but iTune does not sync the generated mp4 files to my iPhone with the message ".. file was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone.

It's too bad iTune did not copy the files, there must be some small inconsistencies, please fix this and I am looking forward for this utility to work for us!
