Password Spyer 2k is a password recovery tool for windows. Password Spyer 2k reveals passwords hidden by asterkis (***) in all windows version (including 2000 and XP). You can use it to recover lost or forgotten passwords in most windows applications such as outlook, cute ftp, ws ftp, ICQ and others. You can use it to also reveal saved web passwords.
Version 2.6 may include unspecified updates, enhancements or bug fixes.

There are so many programs to uncover hidden passwords that it's difficult for one to stand out. Add this to that pile of also-ran apps. Password Spyer 2k has a tiny interface that's about the size of the standard dialog box. All the direction you need is onscreen, although there's a good deal of user guidance available online.
The program has two methods to reveal most passwords hidden behind asterisks: dragging a bull's-eye icon from the interface over the password field, and mouse over. We weren't all that impressed with the drag-and-drop method. Since the publisher notes that the mouse-over method may work where the bull's-eye one doesn't, there seems little reason to include it.
The unregistered version only displays the first two characters. The demo works on Windows programs like Outlook and Outlook Express. The publisher notes that the registered version has the option to uncover Web passwords, but based on our tests, we don't think most users will get that far.
Password Spyer 2k is simple in some ways, but seems to needlessly offer two methods to do the same thing. There are more straightforward options on the market, including some that will give you a preview of all the password types they can reveal (Web and Windows). We suggest you give some other programs a try before making your decision.
