It's a lightning-quick password recovery tool for Outlook Express installations, but the demo reveals merely the first two characters. Password Recovery Engine for Outlook Express succinctly presents data uncovered from your default OE installation. The compact list shows passwords for all OE accounts, and has extra tabs that reveal lists of news server and identity passwords. The interface is easy to read, and each list contains all the data you'd need to transfer settings to another e-mail program.

Click an e-mail address and the program displays the data below in basic text boxes. You can click a button to save the full list in a test file. Another button copies a single selected password to your clipboard. The demo is limited to displaying two characters per password, but that's a standard practice with programs in this genre. You'll know right away if this program will work for you.

Password Recovery Engine for Outlook Express doesn't have the most impressive design, but it accurately displays your OE passwords. That's all you really want with this type of application.
