"Cnet Needs to Protect It's USERS!!!"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
Shows just how caring CNET is about it's users! This is a virus program and it's available to download here...on cnet?
Cons
Boy Wonder "Holy smokes batman, this is a con program!"
Batman "It's ok boy wonder cnet will attend to these dasterdly dopes!"
ParetoLogic "MUhahaha, I'm a Evil Program that nobody cares about, muhahahaha"
Cnet "Huh, what?"Summary
TOTAL SCAM PEOPLE!! Funny though, a Anti-Virus Program, that is a Virus, good job Cnet!!
Laptoptester dot Blogspot dot com already has this listed as a virus!!

"Tried to use twice, didn't learn the first time."
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
NONE AT ALL
Cons
Ran their repair and it stopped several programs I've used for years without a hitch.
Summary
If you like throwing away money, this is a good one to throw it away on.
Absolutely useless program if it can even be called that. -
"Absolutely amazed this is still offered here!"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
None. Zero. Zilch!
Cons
This software is a scam! It finds multiple threats and problems that you "then have to pay for the software" before it will clear them. Needless to say none of the threats or problems exist.
Summary
STAY AWAY from this! DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT! DO NOT USE IT!
WHY IS THIS rubbish still offered on Download.com? -
"useless crap!"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
zip - none.
Cons
don't walk, run!
-
"Tell me how to get rid of it!"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
If there ever were any, the aggravation it causes has made me forget it.
Cons
Worthless & slows up your computer. Pops up even after you've supposedly removed it.
Summary
It's been said how bad this is & that the earlier Cnet recommendation should never have happened. What I want to know is how this thing can stop popping up when I start my computer. I've supposedly deleted it using Add/Remove Programs yet I still have to click out of it whenever I start my computer.

"EPIC Fail - X"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
None - but I need more characters.
Cons
The support staff that wanted to argue about what I 'want'.
Summary
The product was not what I wanted as 'the advertising' was misleading. When I pointed this out - complete with references to the misleading advertising they avoided the issue. That didn't concern me as much as finding these reviews.
Update - I intended to offer feedback for the process of getting the product, but the support centre won't allow me to access my original 'request' on their 'knowledge base'. I got this message -

No password - and now I can't reply or update my 'request'. That says it all folks - avoid any company that avoids you when the going gets tough. -
"This is not Software, it's MalWare. Don't Get It"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
NONE, none, none. No pros whatsoever. It's malware
Cons
You will never be able to get rid of it.
Slows down your computer
Runs on task manager without your permission
Not on your 'program' list to be able to uninstall itSummary
Malware, malware, malware
-
"Useless. Just taking up space."
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
None that I can see.
Cons
Cannot complete with Norton, Spybot & other programs I've been usinf for years, very effectively.
Summary
I am happy using what I have. I am now going to uninstall ParetoLogic
-
"Move On. Nothing to see here."
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
Absolutely None.
Cons
Installation not only didn't help resolve the initial issue issue they advertised but slowed the computer so much that I had to uninstall to regain the use of my own computer system.
Summary
Installed the Spyware Plus after being assured it could assist me with a simple redirect to ask.com hijack.
"ParetoLogic makes every effort to protect its clients from a wide range of spyware, malware and other malicious threats" begins the email. It continues: "We feel confident that our Anti-Virsus PLUS software will provide you with the ability to eliminate this threat."
Took 30 minutes to upload. Then the real problem began. My computer ran so slow that I had to uninstall it (which took 15 minutes--all for a 21.07 MB program). I was able to regain the speed of my computer system immediately. This program is not a wise choice. I wish I had never attempted it. It never solved the initial malware problem and how can they make a promise to resolve it? I can't reinstall the software since my computer becomes so slow, I might as well have a Playskool computer! Please, research this program a little more before reconsidering.
If you decide to purchase their RegCure, watch for the automatic renewals that they set up within PayPal. Had I not received a notice from PayPal, I would not have known. I had to go into PayPal and manually disable the automatic renewals.
Move on. Nothing to see here. -
"Worthless program"
Version: ParetoLogic Anti-Virus Plus 6.0
Pros
Easy to download, register, and run
Cons
Downloaded and paid $40 bucks for this program to try to remove a search highjacking virus. Oh.. and for $40 buck the license lasted all of 6 days (check out their website... they are very careful not to mention how long it lasts aren't they).
Summary
$40 bucks for 6 days of a program that actually made my computer run worse. Now I get to see if their "100% satisfaction guarantee" is any better than the program.
