"Great way to send and receive faxes if not a big user."
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.8.0.66
Pros
Don't need a fax machine or fax line.
Cons
Would be inconvenient if you want to send hundreds of faxes, but who sends faxes these days.
-
"The worst customer support on the planet...bar none..."
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.8.0.61
Pros
It works most of the time
Cons
HArd to use features with harder to understand direction coupled with nonextistent customer support. I have reported a problem with a feature only to receive a message saying that they received my issue and would contact me. The contact I received the next day consisted of a message saying the tickett was closed. This happened not once or twice, but 4 times.
Summary
Use it for the very basic task of recording your Skype calls. Don not attempt to use any other feature unless you have galactic patience, unmatched by any other human in the world!

"Epic fail!"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.7.0.108
Pros
When it works, it does a decent job (which is about half the time)
Cons
Paid over $20 for the pro version, crashed 50% of the time. DO NOT BUY if you are using this for business because it is not reliable.
Summary
Overall, a ripoff. Crashes roughly 50% of the time when recording, which means you're trying to force close the program while still on the call. Been waiting a week to hear back from customer service.

"Good concept but zero support when problems arise"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.7.0.108
Pros
I use the feature that was designed to record inbound and outbound calls. Clever concept.
Cons
I use the feature that was designed to record inbound and outbound calls. Clever concept but there are numerous problems with absolutely no customer support. My work-around has always been to unsinstall, restart and reinstall.
Summary
After a week, I'm still waiting for a response to a problem I submited along with a screen shot of the error message. So far, they only acknowedge that they've never seen this problem before. Well, that's hardly consoling to me as I'd prefer not to be an error message pioneer. Who knows how long I'll haave to wait. I supppose I'll just use my standard work-around of uninstall, resart and reinstall. NOT a very convenient process but because the people at Pamela either don't care or don't know how to fix the problem, I'll have to wing it until I hear any better information from the Pamela Customer Non-Support Team.

"Doesn't work and customer support is AWFUL"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.7.0.74
Pros
When it does work, which is sporadically, it works well.
Cons
I purchased the professional version. During a very important 1 1/2 hour call, 28 minutes in I lost all audio. I have been unable to get any answers from customer "support". This is a total waste of money, and it is not at all dependable.
Summary
I would not get this product. It works sporadically, but when you need things recorded, sporadic is just not good enough. I have lost important audio that I will never recover, it's just lost. Too bad for me. Customer support is a joke.I sent them an e-mail explaining the above missing audio 28 minutes in, and get this reply: OK mysterious, did you change anything?" It further said to update my Skype to the latest version. Also directed me where to find stored audio on my computer, and said if it isn't there, then it's lost. That was it. A couple of days later they sent me another e-mail saying they were closing this ticket. I replied that they didn't do anything to help me. They said send more information. I did. That was almost 2 weeks ago, and still no reply. I need to find something more dependable. Something that works. This isn't it.

"Doesn't actually work"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.7.0.19
Pros
it does record sound
Cons
it DOES NOT record video, despite what it claims. It completely fails.
Summary
What can I say... this utility is supposed to do 1 thing and 1 thing only, which is to record skype video calls... and it doesn't do that.

"Too many hard to use features and frequently locks up."
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.7.0.19
Pros
When it works, it works well. I have it set to automatically record inbound and outbound calls.
Cons
Far too many features in the Pro version which I had to purchase to get the one or two features I needed. The program often freezes and I've been forced to uninstall/reinstall a few times. When it is uninstalled, Skype seems to work better.
Summary
Skype sound effects shut off when Pamela is installed. They come back on when I uninstall Pamela and disappear again after the reinstall. I've had to go through this process 3 times in less than a year. Now, when Pamela is installed, I don't get call on Skype. Since I've set it up to automatically forward to my cell, that's where all the calls go. Tech support is all but non-existent. I get cryptic, techno speak responses whenever I have a problem and have to contact them. Ironically, you can't talk to anyone about the PHONE service!! And I paid for the Professional edition. Hopefully, my subscription will run out and I can try something different and more efficient. By "more efficient" I mean a program that can be installed and do what it's supposed to do without a lot of fluff features that are irrelevant, useless and nearly impossible to understand how to work. Even the terminology is hard to decipher. Now, I just checked my Pamela call log to see how many recording I have. It's a good thing I checked! I haven't had a call recorded in the past 8 days!! It has stopped functioning and I don't know why! I suppose I have to spend a few hours of my time to try and figure it out myself. It would prefer a root canal to making another attempt at reaching Pamela and getting a useful answer.
Does anyone have a suggestions for a good call recording software package? -
"Always malfunctions and there is no tech support"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.6.0.59
Pros
It worked once
Cons
According to e-mails I received from Tech (un)Support, I had to buy an upgrade in order for it to work properly.
Summary
Functionality? What functionality? All I want is a program that will record Skype calls and this isn't the one.

"Hit and Miss, Mostly Miss"
Version: Pamela for Skype - Professional Version 4.6.0.14
Pros
Pretty in pink.
Cons
Does not work as advertised. Records occassionally, but does not save the file in the designated area for recordings. Have had some recording "disappear", as in not get saved at all.
Summary
The Forum for this product is littered with the same problems over and over with no fixes. This product has too many glitches and bugs to be reliable. Would not recommend.
