Paltalk's integration of video, audio and text chatting unified into one window makes for a strong chatware program that includes a wealth of features.
Parental controls employ a password to change settings or block groups; adult content is hidden by default and all rooms are moderated. Add in the room ratings of G, R and A, and safe chatting is a cinch. Right-clicking a person's name gives a user-defined amount of personal information, with private room invite and file sending options. Sessions can be printed and saved, and buddy lists from other chat accounts can be automatically imported. Latest updates include screening rooms to share online vids, music feeds from Rhapsody and multiplayer games in case you get bored talking.
However, the abundance of pop-up ads, which strike even while you're in the middle of joining a room, might motivate users to pay for a subscription or look elsewhere. Free accounts only can open Webcams for a few seconds, while paid users can open multiple video windows. The app crashed for us when closing, and the system slowdowns were disappointing. Uninstalling Paltalk left an icon on the desktop.
Still, the thousands of rooms for politics, karaoke, tech advice, and porn mean that anybody can find a connection on Paltalk.

"Often Unstable, Bloated, Interferes with other apps."
Pros: It's the only thing like it out there? (That's a tragedy)
Cons: UNSTABLE; forced upgrading mechanism that often bypasses operating system security; no Mac OS X version (although that may be a blessing in disguise); will sometimes cause other apps to lock up when it does.
Summary: If there were an alternative, I would be using it. I hope the Paltalk developers put more time into the stability of Paltalk and its inter-process/interference issues. Also, get the "VIRUS infection via Paltalk" problem fixed without forcing Palta... read more >>

"Terrific Brilliant and nothing Closer"
Pros: I like the fact that i can have a private session and in 3 other rooms at same time. I like the fact that the quality of video is so gr8, I like the fact that so many diverse cultures and religions can share in everything in one place
Cons: i dont like ppl who was baned and bad mouth something cause they tried to make others feel crap

Pros: Voice Quality, Cam Quality, The Ability To Hear Around The World Like It Was Next To You, Over 5,000 Rooms, With A Average Of 60,000 People Online At Any One Time, Moderated Rooms For Peoples Pleasure And Child Saftey, Cant Be Beaten.
Cons: NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH !!

"* Possible worm/virus/malware * Uninstall AT ONCE!"
Pros: None apparent
Cons: Seems to install by itself. Does not require admin privileges on Vista / Overrides admin privleges.
Summary: Seems to install by itself. I have a PC with Vista. My account is the only admin account and is password protected. PalTalk has been installed, or has installed itself twice, with no UAC prompts. PC is used by two other people, on seperate "Limited"... read more >>
