With a smorgasbord of tools for working with digital photos and creating illustrations, the latest version of Paint Shop Pro clearly has lofty intentions. However, this application shares a few minuses found in similar full-featured image programs. The busy, cluttered interface is almost certain to overwhelm newcomers, though more seasoned veterans of image-editing applications will quickly find their sea legs. Also, the installation file eats up a whopping 98MB of disk space, so be prepared for a wait before you can begin testing Paint Shop Pro's powers.
In return for the hefty toll it takes on your system, this program offers just about every tool you'll need for illustrating and perfecting your digital photos. In addition to the standard assortment of drawing implements, you'll find such new additions as a palette knife and a smear tool. Any errant brush strokes or adjustments can easily be undone via a small pane in the lower-right corner. If digital photography is your game, you'll appreciate the boatload of image-editing options Paint Shop Pro puts at your disposal. You can manually adjust such attributes as sharpness, color balance, and contrast, or you can use the program's One-Stop Photo Fix feature to automatically whip your shots into shape. A wide variety of effects will come in handy if you want to go beyond simple corrections, or you can simply resolve flash or backlighting problems. If your shots have too much noise or purple fringing, Paint Shop Pro can fix them up in a jiffy. Though this program may leave casual photographers or illustrators a bit bewildered, its all-encompassing feature set makes it a great bet for pros or anyone else craving a fine degree of control over his or her images.

Version: Paint Shop Pro 9.0
Pros: One of the best photo imaging products on the market, at a fraction of the cost of Adobe Photoshop CS. This can do as much, if not more than Photoshop. I really liked the new noise removal feature, works great. And of course carried over from version 8 is one step automatic processing, it will do everything at a touch of a button! Amazing.
Cons: Uses quite a bit of memory, don't even consider using this unless you have at least 256 Megabits of memory, I personally have 512 and even with that is is a bit slow!

Version: Paint Shop Pro 9.0
"Has saved my photos new and old! But get ready to learn."
Pros: Scrapbookers dream! Gives the ability to repair scans of old damaged photos, makes graphics, super frames, tons of creative potential. take a look at a few things I've done with it at, (Tree Pruitt at ArtWanted DOT COM -Google gets ya there), I had the free trial and WILL purchase! It's worth it folks. I'm spoiled now without it!
Cons: Some applications shut down if too many layers or applications are open. Save often and it shouldn't be an issue. Company says they're working on it. Some of my graphics will load into images hosting sites but don't appear when I install the tag in code line. And I haven't been able to figure out why. So help issues could be more clear on the program. Nothing else I can find in this price range that can do all this one can though.

"PSP9 lets my creativity run wild"
Pros: PSP can do anything you can think of doing to, for and with your photos. I can work with PSP for hours, never getting bored or running into a situation that wont let me go any further into the program, I always loose track of time when working with my photos on PSP9.
I am a professional photographer.

Version: Paint Shop Pro 9.0
"It is pretty much the same as the last one(psp 8)"
Pros: Easier to make vector stuff, different brushes(different than they usually do), good tubes. They have a great symetrical shape tool
Cons: moved some stuff that was perfect the way it was, and it's really like psp 8, it does this weird thing with windows, like if you open up something it will go up into a different window just like you have two Paint Shop Pros opened on your computer.
