This small and simple utility quickly checks the availability of any POP3 server, but can't test your specific account. POP3Test is a DOS command that doesn't have a Windows interface. It's still simple to use as you merely need to execute it in a command window. Supply the name of your POP3 server, and almost immediately you'll see whether your POP3 server is available. POP3Test helpfully checks whether your e-mail is failing due to a downed server or to your e-mail application. What POP3Test can't do is check your account login and password; that feature is available only for registered users. Anyone comfortable using DOS commands will find this an easy application to operate, useful for all those who depend on e-mail.Publisher's description

Version: POP3Test 1
Summary: Functionality that should be in windows. Does what port scanners don't. Actually tests login to POP3. It can also be scripted or put in batch files. Very responsive support.
IMAPTest would be a good next effort. -
