This e-mail client application notifies you when e-mail comes in to any POP, MSN, Hotmail, or Yahoo account you specify. Despite being freeware, POP Peeper is a full-featured program with numerous settings and configurations. It lets you assign different WAV files as notification sounds for each of your various e-mail accounts. The program also sends visual notification.
You can open either POP Peeper or your e-mail client to check your new mail. Extensive help is available within the program and at the publisher's Web site. Modem users will appreciate the program's ability to go online, check e-mail, and log off at a specified interval. Folks with multiple e-mail accounts and not a lot of cash are most likely to benefit from POP Peeper.

Version: POP Peeper 3.1
"Does what it says, but does it well."
Pros: Trouble free installation and no probems in use. Just does its job.
Cons: One minor niggle is that defaults it choses during set up are not useful for all mail boxes, so check what it has done for each mailbox before you launch your first mail collect. Once you have the set up right it just works without hassle.

Version: POP Peeper 3.1
"Reliable and easy, saves so much time."
Pros: Though not a great fan of "web-mail" I do have a few accounts and hate the fuss of signing in and signing out, this piece of software sits there quietly and does exactly what it says on the tin!
First, it tells you if one of your accounts has new mail, click on your tool bar icon and you can see which one. Second, it lets you read that mail in a separate browser window but, most valuable, third, you can administer your account from that window . . . you really don't need to sign in and sign out any other way!
It's Vista and Firefox friendly too! What more do you need?
Cons: Unless you read the help section carefully you can get confused in entering your sign in details into POP Peeper but it is easy to correct any mistakes.
