This e-mail client application notifies you when e-mail comes in to any POP, MSN, Hotmail, or Yahoo account you specify. Despite being freeware, POP Peeper is a full-featured program with numerous settings and configurations. It lets you assign different WAV files as notification sounds for each of your various e-mail accounts. The program also sends visual notification.
You can open either POP Peeper or your e-mail client to check your new mail. Extensive help is available within the program and at the publisher's Web site. Modem users will appreciate the program's ability to go online, check e-mail, and log off at a specified interval. Folks with multiple e-mail accounts and not a lot of cash are most likely to benefit from POP Peeper.

From Mortal Universe :POP Peeper is an e-mail notifier that supports POP3, IMAP with Idle (AOL, AIM, Netscape, etc), SMTP, Hotmail, MSN, LiveMail, Yahoo, Mail.com, MyWay, Excite, Lycos.com, RediffMail, Juno and NetZero. Other features include portability, password protection, an address book, viewing in HTML (or rich/plain text for security), open/send attachments, separate polling intervals for each account. Many options are available to indicate new mail has arrived such as sound alerts (configurable for each account), flashing scroll lock, skinnable pop-up notifier, and a customized screensaver. An SSL plug-in is available for download which allows you to retrieve e-mail from POP3 servers that accept secure connections such as Gmail. With IMAP's Idle command, you will be notified of new e-mail as soon as it arrives in your inbox.
Version 3 adds Imap support, LiveMail support, Juno/NetZero support, address book, APOP, portability, print messages, new 32-bit graphics.

Version: POP Peeper 3
Pros: read other reviews for pros...
Cons: Couldn't go a day without errors, even with updates. I would still recommend this app as they usually fix any "bugs" quickly and it is an excellent mail checker. After a week though, I lost patience with the "server-errors" on 3 different eMail accounts. I'll try again in 2-3 mos.

Version: POP Peeper 3
Pros: This in NOT AN EMAIL PROGRAM, so don't expect it to be one. It is an email checker, and it does this job quite admirably and effectively. It easily covers my hotmail and gmail accounts, as well as a smattering of others I've accumulated. Excellent GUI design, tons of features, and compatibility with webmail. It's free! Better than anything similar asking for money.
Cons: For what it's designed to do and the price? There are no cons.

"This is the best free email checker out their for me."
Pros: Loads of options with printing and address book recently added. Once set up (if desired) this can be a great virus-spam screening program for multiple email accounts. This not an antivirus program or email client. This is on my top 10 list of downloads.
Cons: insignificant to the value of this program

Pros: I like this programm! It is very easy to handle and i get a atumatic notification when i get new emails. A really nice gadget.

"Solid program, updated often"
Pros: Checks both my POP and webmail accounts. Allows different sound notification for each account. Loaded with features. Author updates program to reflect changes in the supported webmail systems.
