This e-mail client application notifies you when e-mail comes in to any POP, MSN, Hotmail, or Yahoo account you specify. Despite being freeware, POP Peeper is a full-featured program with numerous settings and configurations. It lets you assign different WAV files as notification sounds for each of your various e-mail accounts. The program also sends visual notification.
You can open either POP Peeper or your e-mail client to check your new mail. Extensive help is available within the program and at the publisher's Web site. Modem users will appreciate the program's ability to go online, check e-mail, and log off at a specified interval. Folks with multiple e-mail accounts and not a lot of cash are most likely to benefit from POP Peeper.

From Mortal Universe :POP Peeper is an e-mail notifier that supports POP3, Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo, Mail.com, MyWay, Excite, Lycos.com, and RediffMail accounts. Several options are available to indicate you have received new e-mail, including sounds, a pop-up alert, and flashing the Scroll Lock LED. Additional notification plug-ins can be downloaded including a skinned pop-up notifier and a screensaver. You also can read and delete messages, save attachments and send mail. Other features include easy account setup, password-protection, user interface customizations, individual account timers, and the ability to read your messages in HTML, rich text, or plain text. An SSL plug-in is available for download, which allows you to retrieve e-mail from POP3 servers that accept secure connections such as Gmail.
Version 2.4.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: POP Peeper 2.4.2
Pros: I have tried over a dozen mail notifiers and retrievers,from Incredimail(spyware)to E-Prompter,and POP Peeper does the job the best. Yes,it's not flashy, but it works great. If you are a new user,make sure your Outlook Express is setup correctly,or it might not function right. I recommend POP Peeper and the best part is, it's FREE! 5 stars and TWO thumbs UP!

"Best Email Notifier,,, And It's FREE!"
Pros: Pop Peeper works with ALL email clients including Outlook, Eudora, Thunderbird... you name it! Makes no difference because it's a standalone application that automatically "links" to your client. Without question, this is the most user-configurable notifier ever made. Initial setup is a breeze. Do you use web mail... hotmail, yahoo, gmail, lycos, myway, excite, etc? No worries, Pop Peeper configures port, server and security settings for you automatically. If you use Outlook Express, Mozilla, Eudora or Netscape as your primary email client, Pop Peeper can import all of your email accounts and settings automatically!
Previewing messages and deleting unwanted mail directly from the server has never been easier and with the latest version it's now possible to reply to SMTP and POP3 messages without even opening you email client.
The basic installation package includes a variety of notification options including audio alert, flashing LED on your keyboard, taskbar icon, and on-screen display. Use any combination or all... whatever suits your needs. There are also several free plugins (separate downloads) that add additional features and control. I especially like the new "Notifications" plugin which adds configuration options and notifier skins. Honestly, there are just too many other features to mention here. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with Pop Peeper. If you have any questions or problems, the publisher provides a friendly web board for fast answers. Get it now!

"i like pop peeper & eprompter"
Pros: I switch over from eprompter to this is because this has the option to allow u to view in html so pictures can be viewed
Cons: One thing distasteful to me is u cant compose emails & there is no address book unlike eprompter.

Pros: This program is great. Simple enough but, packed with features. Doesn't use up as much memory as leaving outlook open
