"One of the best deals on the Net."
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
Does exactly what it proclaims to do: Produces great looking pdf documents from any application source. It takes care of 90% of my pdf needs.
Cons
Those trialware nag screens get on your nerves after awhile. But worth it if you're on a tight budget or just only want to check it out. For $20 bucks its a great value (and it gets rid of the nags)

"Good."
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
It is very cheaply priced compared to competition, and it converts to pdf quite well. The only couple of occasions when it could not convert to pdf were when converting complex webpages opened by Mozilla, quite possibly - Mozilla's fault.
I found this program very useful for archiving documents that could not be saved. (For example, filled-in online tax forms.)
This is one of VERY few programs that I paid for; I do not know anything about popups (there are none in the paid version).

"excellent performance and free"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
Don't believe the negative reviews; as with other reviewer; saw neg review and had to comment; great product; does what it says; very good accuracy; good install; has nag screen but small price to pay for what you get and the price for the program is very reasonable especially when you buy their package; a very powerful program for FREE and they complain about the ads, oh, boy; used program to convert WORD docs; combined PDFs; everything was flawless

"How could anyone complain about a popup on FREE program?"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
This is a terrific program, and in fact, we obtained it for CASH, believing the programmer should be rewarded for providing it. For pete's sake, is it too much to ask to pay a measly $10, if the popups bother you that much? Truthfully, this company produces an incredible assortment of little programs which will make your life easier, if only you will either be patient enough to accept the popups, or, gosh, golly, gee whiz, pony up the $10. Get over yourselves, you should be embarrassed to complain about a little popup, if you are too cheap to pay for the program. Not only do these folks offer the programs, but if you go to their website, they even give you little tweaks which will allow you to customize them for your specialized needs. How cool is that? Selfish and greedy people should not be allowed to post reviews, or the rest of us should hiss them away.
Great program, part of a group of great programs. When they don't work, if you think about it, it is almost always because you told them to do the wrong thing. Think like a computer, you can figure it out. OK, that's my rant for today. Try it, if you hate the popups, send the folks a few $. You'll be glad you did.
Cons
Cranky, greedy, impatient users who won't pay $9.95 if they don't like the (informative, by the way) popups.

"Great product for basic PDF-file creation."
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
The rating for this product is simply to low here at download.com -- so I had to add a review ;-)
To use PDF995 is as easy as hitting the print button in any application that supports printing. It creates small and accurate PDF-files. No extra functionality as far as I can tell (and I don't miss any).
Cons
The nag screen is annoying (as it is supposed to). I will probably pay for this product to disable the nag screen.
-
"Fast, convenient, easy."
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
If you need to generate PDFs then this is a quick and easy way to do it.
It's as simple as printing a file and you can't get more simple than that. Just make sure that you preview first to prevent formatting issues.
Very good for basic PDF generation for distribution.
Cons
Haven't used it much for any advanced functions (don't know if there are any) so I'm not sure if it can go beyond the basics but it covers my needs as is.

"Good results for minimal pain. And free!"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
I didn't observe many of the problems reported by Nikita, although I suspect that I have Windows XP SP2 to thank for some of that. The product installed painlessly to C:\Program Files\PDF995, athough I did still have to download and install the print converter separately.
I monitored the product's activity upon use with a bit of suspicion. When I ran it, I saw the nag screen, which is acceptable to me, and only one pop-up advertising the product. During the process, I monitored three connections sent from my PC by setup.exe on port 3574 and one on port 80, which I presume was the pop-up. (Making setup.exe the primary executable isn't very good practice, but considering the very light installation (WinZip self-executable), it isn't suprising that they chose to bundle it all into one file.)
I first tested it with my personal firewall turned off (I still have a network firewall at the router). When I turned the firewall back on, it squelched all of the pop-ups, which is convenient, but is probably a violation of the license agreement.
So, all in all, this product did what I needed - print to PDF - without giving me a lot of trouble.
Cons
If the maker updates this nagware to work around the pop-up blocking in XP SP2, the pop-ups could become an annoyance.
Also, I didn't test how well the conversion to PDF works. It handled all the documents that I sent to it just fine, but my documents aren't very complex.

"simple & useful"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
though the program is no burden to the system, it does perfectly what you want.. get your pdf's in seconds..
-
"Not bad for free"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
Seems to do a good job of converting text and basic images.
Cons
Get used to the pop ups. Also, if you embed objects (like a Visio diagram) in Word, you'll lose the text labels. Only the boxes and lines convert, no text in an "embedded object".

"Free, easy to use, nice and clean results"
Version: PDF995 6.87s
Pros
This is a free program that delivers exactly what it promises on the website. The program creates PDF documents from any program that has a print option. There are two files to download and if you only download one and try to use the program, you will be advised to download the other. The pop-up window is a "Nag-Screen" which appears only to the person who creates the file. The final PDF document is clean and accurately created. Installation is easy and quick. There are no options (none needed). The files install in their own directory C:\PDF995>. If you want great functionality without the nag screens, just upgrade the program. I will continue to use the free version. The ads in the nag screen are easily blocked by a good firewall program as well.
