PDF-XChange Pro is a swift tool for converting files to PDF, though it takes an unusual path to get its results. Regardless, the program offers enough fantastic options to make up for its design flaws.
The program confused us with its interface. We've tested many PDF converters, but had never dealt with one featuring a file tree offering just Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer logos. After briefly reading the instructional Help file and performing some experiments, we realized that drop down menu is how you seek out a file to convert. We would have preferred searching through our hard drive, but this method wasn't difficult once we understood it. Fortunately, the program quickly made a complete design recovery. While the file we chose was opened, there were three PDF icons in the corner encouraging us to Convert to PDF, Convert and e-mail, and arrange options. Conversion functions worked smoothly, maintaining all data, though it left PDF-XChange watermarks. The Options icon provided a slew of excellent features that made us forget the poor initial interface. Here we could compress the converted file into something smaller, add our own watermark, and even password-protect the file. While the interface was a little klutzy, the program's functions and features redeemed PDF-XChange Pro.
PDF-XChange Pro places a watermark on all converted files during its trial. It comes as a compressed file and leaves behind folders after uninstall. Since its functions and options outshine its poor interface, we recommend this program.

Pros
This is just a great product. Full of really useful features, easy to use, with friendly interface, fast -- and it produces great PDFs with faithful rendering of text and graphics. Even the full-blown version is pretty cheap compared to the others.
Cons
There is nothing that can make me sad.
Summary
I downloaded it to try and soon upgraded it. For my opinion it is "software of future". If I have some questions - I can easily ask them in Support forum and to my big surprise I always get answers (in 1-2 days). So, I can say they pay attention to end-user needs and it's great!!!

Summary
This gets my vote for program of the year! Exactly what I needed and more than I expected. Great for marking up plans and documents without buying any pro software. The free version is incredible!

Pros
Version 3 and Viewer version 1 were great. Version 4 and Viewer Version 2 are even better. I don't know why anyone would use Adobe's viewer any more, given that PDF X-change Browser is also free.
The Pro version of the browser lets you add/delete pages from your pdf file, mark them up with text or 'stamps' (which can be made from graphics files, like signature files), and a dozen other useful features.
I use the 'tools' part for overlaying printouts on exiting pdf forms and previewing the results prior to printing on paper. SO useful and saves me time and wasted paper/ink every day.
In short, it does just about everything you could think of doing with PDF files. Try the free version and then see how long you can live without paying for the 'Pro' features.

Almost unheard of, but I have no suggestions for improvement. (Except that I had to type the serial number into the viewer to use the Pro features -- it didn't figure out that I already had the Pro version by itself).

The trial version leave HUGE watermarks on the test documents, and if that wasn't enough another corporate logo is put in the middle of the document rendering it useless.

Offers the most comprehensive and reliable feature set of any of the Adobe alternatives tried. Its also far from the most expensive - though its not a 'budget' product.
The files are tiny by comparison to those created by the alternatives - inlcuding Adobe themselves !
Excellent MS Office integration inlcuding PDF forms creation. A real PDF toolbox that delivers on every promise made and the support is absolutely first class.
Cons
There is only one con as far as I am concerned and that is you must install on each PC - there is no shared 'Network' version - though this is promised in the near future.

Well Ive tried 3 or 4 pdf converters, this has been one of the most eficient, above all talking about images, text is no problem, images are converted well, and they look good, easy to use,

but I think compression could be much better, huge output files... anoying watermarks in trial version.
