It can't control computer access, but PC Prowler effectively keeps tab on most local and Internet activities. Sporting a sleek, well-designed interface, PC Prowler is easy for users to understand. It's also password-protected and runs in stealth mode, though hot-key access would have been helpful. The program captures screenshots and records keystrokes, opened applicationss, visited URLs, and sent e-mails. Also, you can view clipboard contents and even the program's own executed actions. The application claims to record chat activity from popular IM software, but this feature didn't work during our tests. Logged reports can be filtered and saved in TXT or HTML format, and can be delivered through e-mail or via FTP. You'll also find a scheduler and the ability to hide program folders and remove shortcuts from the Start menu and Add/Remove list. Unfortunately, it can't block or limit access to applications and Web sites. Overall, this 15-day trial program proves effective and easy to use, and should suit administrators or others looking to keep an eye on users' activities.
