Outlook.com gives you the ability to manage multiple Microsoft accounts. While the latest update did offer some interesting features, a shortage of tools and performance issues are still evident.
Well designed: Outlook.com presents you with a large display and processes all commands with relative ease. We enjoyed the large text and organized layout as well as the ability to customize the application with various color schemes.
Excellent integration: Email contacts and calendar data saved to your phone are automatically inserted into Outlook.com, easing the overall experience. Files hosted in your Google Drive can be attached to emails via this application.
Send/Receive issues: On a number of occasions, we had some difficulties when sending emails; emails would appear to be sent but would revert to drafts after a few minutes. The newest update added an unlimited sync tool to Outlook.com, but some of our email data from other sessions could not be found.
Basic features: Although you can get most tasks done with this application, we found it to be thin on overall ability when compared to the Outlook.com website. For example, being able to categorize emails and create folders are offered online but not on the application.
For most general needs, Outlook.com will surely get the job done. It is easy to use and operates proficiently, but the occasional bugs and limited tools hinder usability. If you are content with basic email functionality, then Outlook.com is a suitable application.
