This no-frills utility helps you rename a group of files quickly, but lacks some features of competing applications. OttoBatchers' basic interface resembles simple Windows menus. With this program, renaming large numbers of files is just a few clicks away. Users browse for the target files, select check boxes or highlight the files, and define both the renamed prefix and the number sequence. OttoBatcher also lets you narrow your search using the Search Criteria field. Even though it includes a preview window for image files, the renaming convention only allows you to rename the prefixes, not the extensions. Additionally, it forces the users to rename files with a number sequence. In some cases, users may find this tool useful, but more user-friendly utilities are available.Publisher's description
From OTTOmaticK Consulting Group :OttoBatcher allows the preview and selection of any number of files within a folder, and you can quickly rename each with a common prefix and an auto-generated sequence number. Quickly and easily rename your digital photos with a topic or date designation. The program allows you to overwrite existing files but protects against accidental overwriting. The interface provides either a checklist format or a standard Windows list with multi-select capability.
