Orca Browser offers users the standard features found in many of the more popular Web browsers, all of which work very well, but the extras it throws into the mix failed to impress.
Though a little on the cluttered side, the user interface will look familiar to you. Navigational and command buttons are at the top of the window. Menu options give you access to more customization options to change the view, as well as the standard Internet options for managing your browsing history. There's an auto-fill feature that saves you the hassle of signing in and out of frequently visited sites. The Online Storage feature lets you save bookmarks, RSS feeds, and password information so that you can access them from any PC. It requires that you create a password and enter an address to get started. Once we entered our information, it wasn't entirely clear where to go next. When we clicked on the status-bar icon, a window appeared just to let us know that we were connected to the online storage. There was no way to manage our information, or to exit the feature. A visit to Help page returned a "page cannot be found" message.
While Orca Browser worked well as a simple browser, we were left a little put off by some of its features. It's free, but so are the other browsers, and the extras that distinguish this from the competition weren't enough to woo us away from our current choice.
Publisher's description
From Avant Force :Orca Browser is an extremely fast and user friendly Web browser, designed to add more functions on to the latest version of Firefox. Not only does Orca Browser contains all the features, such as security, low memory usage, spell-checker, or built-in download manager from a typical Gecko based browser, it also improves the speed, adds built-in features like an AD Blocker, Flash Blocker, Online Profile Storage, auto Form-Filler, and a Outlook-Style RSS Reader. The auto Form-Filler helps to memorize or fill different types of Web forms and passwords. It can also protect them with a master security password. Online Profile Storage allows users to create their own account. With their username and password, users can choose to save or access their personal data such as bookmarks, AutoFills, and RSS feeds remotely from any computer.

Version: Orca Browser 1.1 build 1
"Editor obviously not familiar with Avant/Orca browsers"
Pros: Extremely fast and easy to use. Autofill is great. USB version is great. I take it with me when traveling internationally - just plug in flash drive to any computer and instantly have my own browser with all bookmarks and passwords.
Cons: Earlier beta versions locked up alot for me. The current version seems to be fine - been using about a week.
Summary: ORCA = BEST! If you have used the Avant Browser, changing to Orca Browser will be painless and seamless (they're made by same company). Editor seems to not have used Avant - maybe just learning curve but I don't remember Avant being that hard to use... read more >>
