Publisher's Description
From Laszlo Systems:
OpenLaszlo is an open source platform for creating zero-install web applications with the user interface capabilities of desktop client software. OpenLaszlo programs are written in XML and JavaScript and transparently compiled to Flash and, with OpenLaszlo 4, DHTML. The OpenLaszlo APIs provide animation, layout, data binding, server communication, and declarative UI. An OpenLaszlo application can be as short as a single source file, or factored into multiple files that define reusable classes and libraries.

"Stay away - nothing useful here"
Version: OpenLaszlo 4.0.3
Pros
The concept is good, and the basis of the implementation is not too shabby as well.
Its simplicity can probably be a good thing.
Cons
The software, as is the community that supports it, is a load of OSS "elitist" ****. Questions (besides the skimpy documentation) aren't answered or are answered in an insulting tone, there is loads of stuff that you have to do by hand, so i really don't see why anyone would bother using another complicated and IMO useless layer in between. Just check the sample apps and gallery - not really works of art there. Any half able webdev can do it in one week or less.
