Omega Messenger offers users a chance to combine different chat programs into one centralized location. While the program works well, some may find that it doesn't cover all their messaging needs.

This free trial has a very simple interface. It mimics many popular chat programs, like AIM or Yahoo Messenger, with a slim, rectangular display and your options along the top. Here you will find buttons to log in, log out, configure, and add contacts. Clicking on log in brings up a drop-down menu with four different chat programs (MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ) that you can open simultaneously. From here, a new screen pops up, prompting users to enter their log-in information and password for the selected program.

Once log-in information is confirmed for your chat programs, different contacts appear on the screen and can be double clicked to chat with. Additionally, you will show up in their various programs as open for conversation.

Omega Messenger quickly and simply does what it promises. Your chat options are laid out and are easy to navigate. Our biggest complaint is that you can't add other chat programs; it works only on the four on its menu. There are other downloads that allow users to incorporate social networking sites' chats, as well as other messaging programs. If you use only the four programs that Omega Messenger supports, this inexpensive program might be right for you. If your conversations happen in more places, you'll want to try out the competition first.
