Publisher's description

From Ming Jin :

NetPeeker is a set of network tool for personal Internet user. Primarily it is a network traffic monitor, which can reveal network actions such as network applications, connections and their real time speed.
It can log network actions and generate statistics report on network usage of every application and every remote client. This will tell you who has downloaded the most from your computer. The "WhoIs" feature will tell you much information about the remote IP address. It can limit network transfer speed for each application or connection. It's a fully functional personal firewall, which can setup rules based on DNS name and URL, and can import rules from other resources. It includes a popup killer, which eliminates annoying popup windows when you surf on the Internet. It also includes a whois feature.

Version 2.73 fixes a bug which will cause crash when set throttle on UDP sessions.

"is great and is working fine"

    by vm_ro on April 3, 2005

Pros: Beside the interface that is "interesting", he does what it means to does. He really limits the traffic on the specified value, and it can be set it easily. You can use or not the other featuring as firewall or pop-up stop…

The guys that they made it they did a good job.

Cons: I like the classical interface. Looks more professional.

"flexible, usable and lots of information provided"

by onlyme on May 27, 2005

Pros: I love this program. It will log all the connections to your computer, showing the IP, which you can then easily trace (within the program!) You can sort the connections by program, by time, and by ip etc. (I noticed logs only worked when I selected a log folder within the program folder.) It also shows you the speeds you're connecting at.

I also love the fact that you can set all sorts of rules to block certain connections easily. Or you can set it to allow, but notify you. (I disabled the firewall functions, and just get the program to block and or notify me of the things I am interested in, I use this with sygate firewall with no problems). Net peeker is an information gold mine, it as tonnes of features I couldn't find anywhere else, and I looked.. and tried many programmes that were badly designed, hard to use, and messed with my computer.

Net peeker isn't perfect, the design is much better than most, but some minor changes would make it close to perfect. It is updated quite regularly, so please support this program, and before long we may have a close to perfect and indespensible program!

Cons: Needs some tweaking and more options, but the fundamentals are there.

    "Badly crashed my computer"

by skoobeedoo on February 3, 2005

Pros: Neatly done. Works well (until crash). Full of useful options.

Very good but as a beta only.

Cons: Completely crashed my computer because of a very poor management of internet and network sharing.

I had to reinstall XP twice with activation and all the joy you know and to buy a new hard drive with a very funny cloning session because I had the dreadful "IRQ driver not less or equal" message.

This program is not finished and absolutely not stable.

    Do not buy it now.
