Cons
Falsely reports 1.54GB down/33MB up when resuming from standby in Windows 7 64-bit. Occurs every time resuming from standby, making it entirely inaccurate and difficult to gauge actual use. Wouldn't be an issue if never putting it to sleep.
Summary
Good. Not great. I guess it's time to leave it behind and get the updated version.

It's good, but there is better - follow Cnet's link to the Publisher's website where you can download NetMeter 1.1.4 Beta, which is far superior in my opinion. It is more configurable, and it keeps monthly totals.
Cons
0.8.6 only shows a session total. I also had trouble getting the meter to remain hidden, it kept appearing again on logon - this is not a problem with 1.1.4.
Summary
1.1.4 is very useful if you have a download limit on your internet connection - you can keep an eye on how much of your allowance you are eating up.

Don't know. The process was killed as soon as I ran it.
Cons
SpyBot Search and Destroy, arguably the most comprehensive malware detection software available, identified this program as a malicious process and immediately killed and deleted it.
Summary
If SpyBot S&D identifies a program as malware, you'd best stay away from it. Sorry if that sounds like an advertisement. Spybot is actually free software.

Small indicator if traffic. No overhead, always works. Not too much, but enough options to keep you happy. Smart programing. This is a refined little app. Love it. And FREE.

Summary
Tells me axactrly what I want ot know, how fast up and down. Any time there is activity in a scrolling graph. Keeps account of totals and is resetable. One of my favourite apps. New PC, this is one of the first items installed. EXCELLENT.

Very versatile. Small program that does as it says. It also keeps great track for those who want to know how much they use each day, week, month, etc... You can even save logs of the data.
Cons
Little bit hoggish (3megs ram used but I am running it in 32bit compatibility mode on my 64 bit Vista so may be a bit less on a true 32 bit OS).
Summary
Excellent program if you need a program to track your upload/download amounts. I am tracking this to see if I am near Comcast's new "cap" since they don't provide a bandwidth monitor program.

"Greatest free and total meter online"

I've tried every free meter out there along with all free trials. To begin with - I didn't download this version - but went to their website to download the newest version - which hasn't been passed here. In anycase - Other free programs I downloaded either didn't do what they said or used up my ram - as well as the *trials* I signed in for. What impressed me with this sortware was that it did EXACTLY what it stated. It monitored my ongoing bandwidth as well as daily, weekly, monthly totals. It also gives you the ability to save and print the totals. It also gave me the ability to set a limit of the bandwidth I wasn't allowed to go over - it also helped me with an ongoing problem I had with my ISP. I had been cut back on my bandwidth because of *overusage* . I had no way to prove this but after downloading and installing this - and being able to prove over a week that my bandwidth was at a consistant level - it showed the ISP that it wasn't my fault but someone that was *piggybacking* my bandwidth. HURRAY for this software! It does what it says and at less than 5kbs ram! What more can you ask from a professional, but you get this for FREE!
Cons
The ONLY complaint I have is that the monitor remains *on top* of other applications (although you can desize it or minimize it)
