- Version reviewed: NeoSpy 2.6
NeoSpy effectively monitors and logs PC activities, but it comes with one of the stingiest trial periods we've encountered.
The programs command center comes with a self-explanatory interface with nine large buttons. You can choose from several themes or skins for the window display. There are a lot of settings to choose from for all of the types of records (keylogger, screenshots, visited Web sites), but very little time to try everything out. After we stopped monitoring our activity, we were able to view an extensive log with all of the recorded activity. We were also able to quickly import and export the reports. The program can be hidden by simply clicking a button. Likewise, a hot key combo brings it back. The Administrator panel let us see a complete listing of our activities even after we deleted the logs. The problem with NeoSpy is that you'll have to try everything out within an hour. Its hard to get the full sense of a program when you feel rushed during the testing process. Considering the relatively steep cost of NeoSpy, you'd expect a little more testing flexibility.
The feature to e-mail the reports is locked during the trial. NeoSpy works, but because of the short 60-minute trial period, we don't recommend it for novice users.
