Version: NanoPEG MPEG Editor 2.4
"Doesn't produce usable mpeg files"
Pros: Free since it was bundled with Hauppauge card. Interface is simple if you only have basic needs.
Cons: The preview did not show the correct items I had marked. When generating a file it created a 2GB file for a 30 second to 1 minute clip in some instances. The output was unplayable. It doesn't seem to work in most cases.

Version: NanoPEG MPEG Editor 2.4
Pros: ?
Cons: When I uninstalled this program, I found that any video I played on my computer now has a blinking 'nanocosmos' watermark in the corner. Do not download this program.

Version: NanoPEG MPEG Editor 2.4
Pros: Program seems simple enough - not easy to work with but for short (< 30 sec) clips shoule serve you will.
Cons: The details given say there are no limitations on it's use - there is a 30 second maximum clip size limitation.

Version: NanoPEG MPEG Editor 2.4
"Poor Quality Output - lame interface."
Pros: Ummmm.... they found a task that people need?
Cons: I got a free legal copy with some hardware, and now I am looking for any thing else!! Here are my complaints: No help! Interface is not intuative. When you finally make a segment, final output is much lower quality than original. Generating a movie does NOT mean that it is being saved! and Dificult to do a "Save As". Until they come out with version 5, dont even waste your time - AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Version: NanoPEG MPEG Editor 2.4
Pros: it's shocking how poorly designed this software is. videoredo is a pretty awesome alternative to it, but it's $50 :o
Cons: it handles a small percentage of mpeg files i've tried correctly. and even then if you're combining more than a couple of segments, the resulting mpeg file is unplayable by most video players, like media player.
