"No results"
Version: Myster PR 8
Summary

This was easy to install, but searches were slow and I never had a hit on my searches. I tried about 10 searches, popular and obscure stuff. I didn't find much help in the documentation either. I gave up and deleted it. I've had better luck with edonkey2000. -
"I am amazed"

I couldn't believe that they put out another version. Well this one runs and it founds stuff. I was thinking that Myster was jokeware or something, but it's for real. I didn't dowload anything yet but it appears to be functional. This program appears to have potential. I'm an opennap user mostly but poisioned sometimes gets the nod. I'll play around with this though. It looks like it may take an hour for it to share my mp3 collection. hats off to the creators. -

"It finds nothing, for me"
Version: Myster PR 7.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
After almost two hours (wasted) trying to find something, I only saw a handful of MP3 (I had to search for "Madonna" to see something) and four Pics.
I downloaded 3 pics, but couldn't find them anywere! :-(
Search is extremely low, and CPU burden very high (I have an 867 MHz G3 and my Mac is crawling when Myster is searching! :-o ).
But this wouldn't be a problem if it could find and download. Looks like not. :-(
It's a pity, because this app looks interesting and well thought.
I suggest you to try iSwipe and, better yet, SoulSeek Client (buggy but effective), instead of this. -
"Jeez..."
Version: Myster PR 6
Summary

This is really really crude right now, but it seems to work. It is really hard to tell how this program works--is it calling native Aqua api's, or is it all proprietary? I can't tell. A bit slow loading. Very little control over most stuff. I want to know everything that is going on, this thing doesn't tell me anything. I can't seem to cancel downloads, know how many servers I am connected to, etc. I am glad this is cross-platform, but really now, you are way better off making a Java Virtual Machine (.jar) or rewriting the Mac OS X version in Cocoa. -

This is poorly designed program... Completely ugly and unintuitive design, and bad functionality. DO NOT get this. -
"Good start"

The app looks great. Every aspect of it is simple and clean. In that regard it reminds me of Napster. It has a good variety search filters as well. 2 Major problems though. Searches are really slow at times and there doesn't seem to be much content yet. I tried a few common search terms to test and got very few results. Also, it has no sort of log window to let you know exactly what it's doing. Sometimes I like to know what's going on. It's the nicest looking P2P app I have used in a LONG time though. Hopefully it will catch on.
