From Craig Christensen :Rountine file-deletion processes do not allow you to permanently remove sensitive files from your hard drive, and these files can be easily "undeleted" with the right tools. Mutilate overwrites all bits in the files you select using ones, zeros, and/or pseudo-random bit patterns so that the target files can never be recovered. The program offers three defined security levels and a customizable level and includes an uninstall utility. The new Power Mutilator feature lets you select up to 12 folders for quick access to files you target routinely. Power Mutilator is ideal for wiping browser tracks.
