From Craig Christensen :Normal file deletion does not remove sensitive files from your hard drive. Those files can be easily "undeleted" with the right tools. Mutilate overwrites all bits in the files you select, using 1s, 0s, and/or pseudorandom bit patterns so that the target files can never be recovered. The program offers three defined security levels and a customizable level. An uninstall utility is included.
