Bright, colorful, and modern, Mundu IM is one application for instant messaging pals across networks that's both easy and enjoyable to use. While it lacks some of the advanced features found in other versions of Mundu and in other BlackBerry IM applications, what it does, it does fairly well. Connecting to Google Talk, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and AIM is intuitive, as is tabbing through the preference settings. By default, friends are grouped by service, but you can easily pick them out with the search bar at the top of the contacts page. Mundu IM only shows one chat conversation at a time, but will vibrate, ding, and pop up an alert when another buddy pings you. We prefer tabbed conversations, ourselves. If this grows too insistent, retreat to the preference menu.
While you can conference chat, set a status message, and add emoticons, you won't be able to transfer media, receive e-mail alerts, or save your chat history, and we're not fans of the way Mundu advertises itself to buddies. We're also disappointed in the stingy 5-day trial and would like to see that expanded to give testers a long enough period to decide between competing applications.
Publisher's description
From Geodesic Information Systems :Mundu IM is a mobile instant messenger that unites your AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber IM services into a single chat window. You can chat, share photos, and cross-conference all your buddies from your BlackBerry device. You can also do cool stuff like share photos or express yourself better with rich text and status-customization.

Version: Mundu IM for BlackBerry 4.0.5
"not terrible for the price but........"
Pros: fast and fairly easy to operate... seems to be low memory use
Cons: As I was warned before I tried it.....uses WAY too much battery for what it does. Type is way to small and not adjustable for size. The trial being 5 days was short but enough time to show me that the battery problem is one that cannot be overcome.
