From John George :Mp3 Tag Tools is an intutive ID3v1.1 and ID3v2.x MP3 tag-editing utility. The application has several features, such as mass tagging, the ability to write tags from filenames and rename files from tags using custom formats, the ability to clean filenames and correct their case, get tag information using directory formats, and create directories and organize MP3s from tag info. It also features lyrics and picture tagging, the ability to accurately read all MPEG information, and append bit rate and mode to filenames. All of these tag operations can be carried out with or without directory recursion.

"A fully equipped and efficient tagger"
Pros: You can load up all your mp3s to work with them on one screen, and this also means you can make batch changes which is a big relief. Their are different formats you can use to extract tags from the actual filenames in order to get a neater result, and you can also rename files according to tag details which also makes everything a hell of a lot neater. It has a very full set of options and information and works on one simple and quick screen with a user friendly approach.
Cons: Sometimes it can be fiddly and you have to watch what you're doing cos it occasionally seems to become confused somehow. As long as you put your concentration into it these problems are overcome but it can still be annoying to have to focus so hard on a tedious job!

Pros: includes many features. allows to open directories with all their subfolders. tag changes can be applied to multiple files at the same time. works fast.

"Best tagger/cleaner out there...AND IT'S FREEWARE!"
Pros: Once again, the open source community puts out a product that rules over all the others (the first nod goes to Mozilla/Firefox). Mp3 Tag Tools did exactly what I wanted it to...it auto tagged all my files in the correct way that I wanted it to and it did it FAST. And even more impressive than that is the fact that this program isn't hampered by nag screens, registration warnings/threats, or disabled features - BECAUSE IT'S FREE. 100% FREE from the minute you install it. I'm considering sending the author money regardless because this program is the best id3 tagger out there and it does more than that even...it cleans up junk file names (percentage signs and underscores, etc), and it will rename your files based on their id3 tags. Up until now I've been using 1) an id3 removal tool and 2) an automated naming tool - and all the while, this program has been out there and it does both for me at the same time. It's easy to use, it's FREE, and it gets the job done - what more is there to ask for?

Pros: Mp3 Tag Tools is simple to use, fairly intuitive, and free! I find this software useful for tagging mp3 files, as well as renaming naming them.
Cons: Some things are not completely intuitive, so you end up making mistakes that can be time-consuming to fix. It's not perfect, but it's free!

Pros: This program is a life saver. Forget paying $30+ for tagging and renaming software when you can get this beauty completely free. Has all the features of Tag&Rename with none of the irritating prompts for purchase. The man responsible for writing this gem should be given a medal and a full body sensual massage (call me). :)
