Version: Mozy Remote Backup 1.8.8.2
"Failed to backup even one directory correctly"
Pros: Never got it to work. Never found out why. User manual useless. Tech support not around. Nothing good about that. Frustration and corporate smugness wins again.
Cons: Tried the 2 gig free trial. Gave it one directory to Back up, just under 2 gig. After 24 hours using up computer resources it finished Backing Up only half of that directory. It declared Sucess. Did I do something wrong? 2 tries to Tech Support. They never replied. They don't care I don't care.

Version: Mozy Remote Backup 1.8.8.2
"good software but horrible tech support"
Pros: I don't have a problem with the service as long as it is working.
Cons: Their technical support is horrible! The only support you get is via email, and it's a very very very slow process. It has taken over 2 weeks to find out why my backup quit working. Most of that time has been just waiting for emails from their very slow techsupport, and I have not been able to do backups with Mozy that whole time.

Version: Mozy Remote Backup 1.8.8.2
"3 weeks of wasted time with Mozy..."
Pros: Their tech support is quick and eager to tell you how their product has let you down each step of the way.
Cons: Where do I start...external drive features suck or are non existent.
If you do lose your C drive (as I did) getting the software to recognize your replacement drive is cumbersome and stupid. You have to pay AGAIN and then they refund you...Summary: continuing from above...
If you manage to get it to back up your data from an external drive, and you happen to reboot with that drive not connected, their genius software deletes all the data you backed up from that external drive on their sys... read more >> -
Version: Mozy Remote Backup 1.8.8.2
"Great service at a great price"
Pros: Inexpensive
Doesn't use a lot of resources (after initial backup)
Dependable
Great Customer ServiceCons: None that I've found yet
Summary: Be leary of reviews where it seems that the user didn't know what s/he was doing. I've been using the $4.95/mo version for over 6 months and it's been great (and I've had to restore files, too).
