Even though Internet Explorer dominates the Web browser market, you might wonder why if you spend some time with Mozilla Firefox. This light and nimble Web wonder brought tabbed browsing into the mainstream (IE7 recently jumped on the bandwagon) and offers countless ways to customize it through extensions and themes. Drag-and-drop tabs with individual close buttons help keep your content organized the way you like, and you can further streamline your browsing through the use of extensive hot keys. You'll find all of the regular options and features required for surfing the Web in the default setup, but the groundbreaking features come with the thousands of third-party extensions. Likewise, if you don't like the look of the default interface, there are hundreds of slick themes to use, though many weren't updated for version 2 at its release.
Firefox is the perfect browser for those involved with Web design and coding. A JavaScript debugger comes standard, and Firefox displays the page-source code in a new window, using indents and color-coded tags similar to an HTML editor. The built-in pop-up blocker works great for most sites, and new antiphishing protections and enhanced security for extensions are in the version 2 release. Anyone looking for a full-featured browser with seemingly endless ways to customize should download this powerhouse.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1
"Faster, Safer and Better Than Ie"
Pros: Firefox is much better than internet explorer. It's safer because it has less browser exploit, built in phising filter which works better than Ie and stops popups from opening.Interface looks great, it's well organised and user friendly.Much better than Ie 7.
Cons: Some programs are currently not supported for Firefox.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1
Pros: I was an IE user out of necessity for the longest time. Then, right after i got out of college in 2004, I began using alternative browsers and IE shells in an attempt to find a program that suits my needs. I am happy to say that Firefox is that browser. The more that I use it, the more it amazes me. Firefox 1 was far ahead of its time. I loved it. This version actually perfects perfection! The tabbed browsing is a miracle...more work done for me because I can switch between several browsing windows without having to open a new instance of my browser. The power of Firefox is the extensions. This version actually incorporates some old ones, like Session Saver, and inline spell-checking. But the sheer volume and power of the extensions makes this browser customizable to the user. You can add a media player, a weather forecaster, and mouse gesture capability to the browser. It comes with a built in download manager, and you can add extensions to even make that better. Then there are the awesome themes. You can change the look of Firefox on the fly. It is much faster than IE, and safer, too.
Cons: If people embrace this widely (and they will) then Micro$oft will go bankrupt. Nobody will use their crummy, unsafe, underdeveloped browser anymore.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1
Pros: Firefox is the safest and most secure browser on the market. It is also the most customizable. Firefox runs at noticeably faster speed than IE. If you want to use a browser that you control, rather than it controlling you, use Firefox.
Cons: Some websites are still not fully compatible with Firefox. The owners of those websites should get with program. Firefox is the future of browsing.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1
Pros: Stability seems to be my main gripe, the previous releases seemed to have better stability. Still FULLY customizable and easy to operate. Firefox is taking larger portions of the browser market every month, in turn it also brings negative attention such as vulnerabilities. Firefox has always released newer versions rather quick to correct any problems to these attacks. Downloading Firefox will only make your internet experience more pleasing.
Cons: Stability.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1
Pros: If you are one of those Microsoft fans still using Internet Explorer, stop asking yourself why you've got so many spywares browsing the internet ... and install Mozilla Firefox or Opera browser !
First let's take a quick look on Firefox features :
- Tab Browsing
- Download Manager
- Add-on Support
- Content Blocking
- Extensions (a lot of small add-ons that add new functionality to Firefox)
- Themes (great way to personalize Firefox look)
To really illustrate how Mozilla Firefox stacks up versus the other browsers let's ran it through a couple of tests.
TEST Page Rendering Times. For this test I have created a large page containing a table with 2000 rows and some css mixed classes. The results are bellow :
- FireFox 2 time 4.23
- Opera 9.1 time 5.01
- Internet Explorer 7 time 8.12
FireFox came in first place !
TEST Acid2 (you can find this test on webstandards org website). Acid2 is a test page, written to help browser vendors ensure proper support for web standards in their products.
- Opera success.
- FireFox didnt completely fail the test, but they didnt completely succeed.
- Internet Explorer 7 Failed miserably.
Now from the web designer point of view. Opera is always implementing the last web standards and Firefox stands up as well. Internet Explorer is a nightmare. The choice is yours...
I really enjoy FireFox as a browser and definitely recommend it!
Cons: Some minor problems with java script and css needs to be fixed in the future.
