Mozilla Firefox, formerly known as Firebird, has not quite become a fully stable product, but it does quite a few things other browser makers might want to take note of. Much like its predecessors, the latest update from the Mozilla project stays close to common users. Its clean and uncluttered interface houses only the most necessary features, with the option to easily add customized toolbars. Firefox claims to be lightning-fast in every way. In our preliminary findings and superficial comparison, we didn't notice dramatic acceleration, so we can't prove or dispute that claim. What we do know is that the more we use Firefox, the more we like it. As with all Mozilla browsers, it conforms well to standards, so pages from almost any site load and function properly. Tabbed browsing lets you set your home page as a group of tabs or open an entire folder of bookmarks in tabs. Firefox also seamlessly blocks unwelcome pop-up advertisements without requiring the download of any additional software. Disregarding the occasional stability problem, this browser suits both personal and professional use. Watch the CNET video review of Mozilla Firefox:

Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2
"What a Web browser should be!"
Pros: Although out of the box Firefox is not much of anything else but a great web browser. You control what goes and what stays unlike other browsers.. With a Few configurations changes and tinkering a-bit it has became my all-time favorite browser! It's highly customizable, You can change the speed, the way it works and looks; With lots of Extensions and themes, and css code to choose from. It Has an easy to use interface. I love the Tab browsing features, pop up blocker, high custimizabilty, and the search bar integrated into Firefox. That makes browsing the web easier, safer, and more enjoyable. Heres a few notible extensions I couldn't do without 1.Session saver .2 it saves your session so when you exit out, and come back everything is exactly how it was left. Pages, Tabs, cookies, ect. 2.Adblock- blocks most if not all ads. This update fixes a few things. I can't recommend Firefox enough!

Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2
"a stable release sure to knock out safari"
Pros: the tabs, the no-crashing, the perfect display of all webpages, this is the browser for any mac user. This program is small, it doesn't include any unwanted extras, it loads faster than IE and has everything IE offers (favourites bar, history, download helper) and so much more. You can control passwords, cookies, popup windows with ease and precision. If you've had trouble with spyware this is the program to get. Firefox isn't tricked into auto-downloading anything you don't want. But for me the most important aspect is the design layout of websites. I write the CSS, the HTML and firefox displays it perfectly, no 'IE quirks' or reinterpretations of your work.
Life is simpler with FireFox!
Cons: beta versions (pre 1.0) of this program were flaky on Mac, but 1.0.2 hasn't crashed once.

"I can't rate this browser highly enough."
Pros: What's not to like? It's free, secure, and has all the features i want (tabbed browsing, a bookmarks pane that's always visible, RSS handling) and none that i don't. If you need more there are literally hundreds of easy-to-add extensions - my favourite? I must not fear 1.0, try it!
Cons: Ok, ok, call me shallow but safari and camino just look better.
