CNET Editors' review
Mozilla Firefox, formerly known as Firebird, has not quite become a fully stable product, but it does quite a few things other browser makers might want to take note of. Much like its predecessors, the latest update from the Mozilla project stays close to common users. Its clean and uncluttered interface houses only the most necessary features, with the option to easily add customized toolbars. Firefox claims to be lightning-fast in every way. In our preliminary findings and superficial comparison, we didn't notice dramatic acceleration, so we can't prove or dispute that claim. What we do know is that the more we use Firefox, the more we like it. As with all Mozilla browsers, it conforms well to standards, so pages from almost any site load and function properly. Tabbed browsing lets you set your home page as a group of tabs or open an entire folder of bookmarks in tabs. Firefox also seamlessly blocks unwelcome pop-up advertisements without requiring the download of any additional software. Disregarding the occasional stability problem, this browser suits both personal and professional use. From Mozilla:
Mozilla Firefox (formerly Firebird), which uses a large amount of the Mozilla code, is a lean and fast browser that is written using Extensible User Interface Language (XUL). It works on Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems and is designed to be cross-platform. Additional features include a new design, a redesigned preferences window, new icons for the Bookmark Manager toolbar, improved privacy options, smooth scrolling, and various bug fixes and improvements.
New features in this release include a powerful new download manager that makes tracking multiple downloads easier; numerous improvements to bookmarks handling, making it easier than ever to keep track of your favorite sites; and improved handling of extensions (small, easy-to-download applications that can be installed with a few simple mouse clicks and that extend the browser's functionality).

"I see it as a great product"
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 20.0.1
Pros
I really do not see any more than in the past
Cons
I find that it stops more often than the older version. It comes up with an option to restore and this is a pain. I just want to go forward

"Did something to my computer!"
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 19.0.2
Pros
Can't comment due to not being able to download it properly.
Cons
Did not download properly and can no longer use the Mozilla Firefox browser of any version on my computer.
Summary
I gave this 2 stars, but, I really have no idea how this latest version works! After downloading this version of Mozilla Firefox, I was unable to use it nor was I able to use the previous version I had on my computer. This download did something to my computer that NO longer allows me to use Mozilla Firefox. I tried downloading it a second time, but still could not use it. In fact, I cannot even uninstall the download. I'm given an error message!!
I may be the only one with this issue, and, this could be an excellent browser version. Unfortunately, I cannot use it to find out. I have been using Mozilla Firefox as my main browser for years and never had this issue previously. Up until now, I have been very satisfied with Mozilla!! -

Cons
To many gadgets that no one (me anyways) uses.
Summary
If your a geek, this is for you. If your average like me it's to much.

"Not perfect"
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 19.0
Pros
Speedy and concise on my search's , excellent spell checker , can handle multiple tabs at once (14+) with no problems.
Cons
when a background update is getting done it will tend to slowdown
Summary
Search's aren't locked down to make it look good unlike chrome can be and i haven't had any add-on problems either.
detail is excellent when displaying
the only real downer is the fact it sometimes takes a little time if there is a lot to get on to the screen.
I highly recommend firefox. -

-
"Had to go back to previous version!"
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 19.0
Pros

Cons
It's not an improvement
Summary
I should learn to upgrade without thinking & doing more research first
-
"Don't Update"
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 19.0
Pros
C'mon...it's a browser.
Cons
Freezes and is slow as sh*t
Summary
WHY did I allow this upgrade to be installed? I have to force quit it daily and it's far, far less responsive than the previous version; even closing a tab has become fussier and more problematic. Whoever allowed this upgrade to be released ought to be ashamed. And as has been pointed out by another reviewer, it STILL doesn't allow for viewing PDF files.
-
"Still looking for the ability to open a pdf file."
Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 18.0.2
Pros
Enjoy almost all of the functions that I use. Easy to use.
Cons
Can't open a pdf file with this version. Been hoping that firefox
would straighten this out. Versions a while back allowed the opening.
