CNET Editors' review
Although it lacks advanced features found in some competing products, Mister Popper Stopper slays the lion's share of exasperating pop-up ads. The application's attractive design is somewhat tempered by an advertisement in the main window, and we were curious why the developer added a nonfunctional minimization button on the app's upper right. In terms of features, Mister Popper Stopper offers the standard array. You can choose to allow or disallow pop-ups from certain sites, enable a sound when blocking, and specify that the app opens upon system start-up. However, we would have liked the ability to add sites to the whitelists or blacklists via a hot key. In our tests, the app proved very capable against most traditional pop-ups, though it can't deal with Flash or banner ads. The program tells you how many pop-up windows it has blocked, but strangely won't update the statistics until you restart it. We also should note that the trial version only lets you block ads for an hour at a time, which may prove troublesome for those who spend a lot of time online. Though it's not the best pop-up blocker we've seen, this program still provides enough protection for the majority of casual Web surfers.Publisher's Description
From RebrandSoftware:
Mister Popper Stopper blocks annoying pop-up ads in Internet Explorer. Its easy-to-use setup mode lets you choose sites from which to allow pop-ups when you browse.
Version 3.0 allows pop-ups that are the result of clicking an open-in-new-window link, a Win+Z hot key to allow the next pop-up, a brand-new GUI, and streamlined program operation so your browsing experience is never interrupted.
