Version: Miranda IM (Windows NT/2000/XP) 0.5.1
Pros: Multi-protocol (AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, Jabber...), highly customizable, many plugins available, uses little resources, & FREE.
Cons: The program has many options to go through. If you're picky like me, you'll probably spend a good amount of time customizing. But in the end, I get a good-looking & great to use product. It's all worth it.

"Well designed, no-frills, multi-service chat program"
Pros: Miranda has a lightweight RAM footprint, which works very well on most all PCs. For Desktop Sidebar users, there is a great plug-in that keeps Miranda running slickly in the background.
