"Great, But Requires An Account"

Pros
Full game, great graphics, quick and smooth installation.
Cons
Sometimes lags. Requires a minecraft.net account.

The actual game is, as I've heard from friends, awesome.
Cons
This "freeware" just opens a "Minecraft Launcher" where you can register an account, but it won't let you play unless you buy the actual game.
Summary
You can just as well go to http://www.minecraft.net/download, where it says "When you have bought the game, you can download the stand-alone launcher for Minecraft here." I think it's kind of a lie to make people believe you can actually download Minecraft on this page.
