Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server Update: Diagnostic Package

The Microsoft Windows 2000 Customer Support Diagnostics package consists of important tools and data for diagnosing your Windows 2000 system. The complete Diagnostics package is made up of two components: symbols and debugging tools.

Symbols are names that software developers assign to various pieces of code. The symbols to debug retail versions of Windows 2000 are available for all of the languages listed above.

The debugging tools package contains debuggers (KD, Windbg, CDB), debugger extensions (retail and debug versions for both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000), and other related debugging tools.

In addition, special symbols are available for the English debug version of Windows 2000. It is only necessary to download these special debug symbols if you have installed the English debug version of Windows 2000. Most customers will only need the retail symbols.
