"Still causes system lockups in Snow Leopard"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 7.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Much like the old version, this still causes the system death screen to appear in Snow Leopard every 2-3 days. My Mac works fine without it. -
"Intellipoint doesn't work for scrolling"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 7.1
Pros
I liked the earlier versions of IntelliPoint
Cons
When scrolling is carefully set up to scroll one page, it won't scroll one page. I've spent hours trying to get 7.1 to allow scrolling in Firefox, AppleWorks 6, and in Safari. In Safari it scrolls a half page, in AppleWorks 6 it won't scroll at all.
Summary
Intellipoint 7.1 for mac doesn't scroll properly, even when app specific preferences are set up. I had no problems with previous versions.

"Doesn't recognize my MS mouse"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 7.0.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I got this driver and bought a microsoft mouse in the hopes of fixing OS X's awful mouse acceleration problems. It seemed to work fine on a late-08 MacBook (where I really don't care because the trackpad is fine), but on a MacMini (2009), it doesn't recognize my mouse as an MS mouse! Color me disappointed. -
"Works well for my limited needs and no problems i..."
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 7.0.0

I'm using just the IntelliPoint 7.0 software with the very simple 5-button IntelliMouse USB. Having this software is useful for me in 3 ways:
1. Expanded button function assignments, going beyond OS X's limited choices
2. The IntelliPoint ("accelerated") pointer speed option. Move faster = go much further
3. Accelerated scrolling
The software does all three things very well, and without any problems or conflicts with my system.
However, it would be nice to see options for "chording," using 2 buttons at once for additional functionality. -
"BROKEN MULTIMEDIA KEYS"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.3
Pros
Works if you're not worried about using media keys with software other than Microsofts.
Cons
Completely BROKEN - they've stopped sending multimedia key presses in this version (they're hidden) other programs can't see them.
Summary
INFURIATING. I've just wasted the last two hours trying to get this working then then looking for an older version to downgrade to.

"6.2.2 does not Power Save correctly"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.2.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I recently bought Microsoft's Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and installed IP 6.2.2. The mouse is working fine but I found that the drivers do not allow my iMac to power save correctly. Firstly, the display does not dim after a period of inactivity and the computer does not enter sleep mode automatically. I've gone into the Bluetooth preferences and unchecked the "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" option. However, the computer still does not go to sleep with the wireless mouse paired. I hope Microsoft can address this issue in the next driver update. -

"Finally, thank you!"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.2

Thank you, now I can use my Bluetooth Elite set without switching every time I want to use the laptop keyboard! As far as being a true pref pane, it didn't really matter to me. BUT (and EVERYBODY'S got a big "but") I can't program the scroll keyboard scroller to do anything but scroll (except vertical scrolling with a key down). One of the reasons I got this set was so I could scroll through a Flash or Director timeline. Otherwise, THANKS, now I can use the set as designed. -
"Can't program buttons (Mac G4)"
Version: Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Today I bought Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2000, and downloaded and installed Microsoft Mouse 6.2 (also called Intellipoint). NONE of the buttons can be programmed. The scroll wheel button ALWAYS does a single click no matter what option I choose in the panel. The right button always does secondary click. The included manual, such as it is, is very simple and does not mention that the sofware can be downloaded. It simply says it can be used with no software. Tha's true if you only want the factory defaults. The installer provides no uninstall option. I'm very disappointed and will be returning my new mouse tomorrow. -
"BRILLIANT!!!!!"

At last with this update my bluetooth elite keyboard and mouse are supported, i can customise all the function buttons on the keyboard and mouse which wasn't possible before. I never thought i'd say this, but thanks Microsoft (although an update 2 years ago when the keyboard came out would have been better)
