This update addresses the "Windows 2000 NNTP Services Bypass Exchange Permissions" issue on computers that are running Windows 2000 Network News Transport Protocol (NNTP) Services and Exchange 2000 Server and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q291840. Download this update to prevent users from bypassing the permissions in the Exchange 2000 information store.

When Windows 2000 NNTP Services are configured to post to Exchange 2000 public folders, this vulnerability might allow users to post and read messages regardless of the permissions set for them in the Exchange 2000 information store.
