Publisher's description of Maxthon 1.5.9 build 80
From Maxthon International:Maxthon (formerly MyIE2) is a multipage browser based on the Internet Explorer core (IE 5 or 6 required). It can open multiple Web pages in just one window, and it takes only a few system resources when you're surfing with the integrated user interface. The application supports special plug-ins and IE extensions, and its features include autoscrolling, form autofilling, external tools, plug-in support, a newsgroup-browsing mode, mouse gestures, customizable skins, and an Autohide panel. The latest release features improved theme support, enhanced stability, and updated skinning.
Version 1.5.9 build 80 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

A browser based on the Internet Explorer engine, Maxthon is probably something of a curiosity for most North American users. It never really caught on there, but elsewhere--especially China--it's one of the most popular browsers around. It renders pages fast and comes loaded with features, as if Firefox came with 90 percent of its most popular plug-ins.
All the basics are represented here, from tabbed browsing to skins to add-ons, and many of the rolled-in features make Maxthon hard to ignore. Some of our favorite features include rolled-in auto-form filling, the ability to set up bookmark groups that open on start-up--excellent for news or blogs, the ability to autoscroll Web pages, and pop-up and content filters for blocking ads and specific content formats you don't want. There are also customizable hotkey commands for such nifty features as auto-completing URLs, so if you type "download" and hold down the Ctrl key, it will auto-fill the "http://" and the ".com".
We also like the super drag-and-drop feature, which lets you directly select and drag keywords to a current Web page or directly to the address bar. Maxthon is fast, small, flexible, and easy to use, and the extra features make it a browser we highly recommend. This version, Classic, differs from the newer Maxthon in several ways--notably by being more stable and less customizable.

Version: Maxthon 1.5.9 build 80
"Good browser, but I don't use it that often anymore"
Pros: Tabbed browsing.
Pop-up blocker integrated.
Filters you can set up.
Cons: Sometimes crashes and some pages don't load as they should do.
I use Opera as a standard browser nowadays.
But I have Maxthon and Avant Browser installed as well.
And Internet Explorer 7 too.

Version: Maxthon 1.5.9 build 80
"OK, but flawed and undistinguished"
Pros: Seems fairly stable. Reasonable but unremarkable range of features, most of which work as they are supposed to. Pleasant enough interface - lots of skins available, but of variable quality, and awkward to install. Tabs work well.
Cons: Very unwieldy, unhelpful search arrangements, which kept defaulting to Yahoo; not compatible with Google Toolbar for IE. Generally incompatible with IE add-ons as far as I could tell - would not work with Fresh Download plugin or IESpell either. If you want a Trident-based browser, Avant Browser and FlashPeak Slimbrowser are both far better products; even IE7 is preferable!

"Good browser. but Avant is better"
Pros: Pop blocking, tabbed browsing, groups
Cons: Unable to import groups from Avant or other browsers, need to right click to close sites. I only use it when sites don't open in Avant, which has only been one so far.

Version: Maxthon 1.5.9 build 80
Pros: I've been using it more than two years and now I cannot surf internet without it, even I cannot think an "online life" without it.
It has perfect features:
It opens a link in new page only by dragging the link.
It has mouse gestures, you can assign any mouse shortcuts. For ex you can close the page only by dragging down with right button of your mouse
It has autofill. You can save form information once and you can use it anytime by only a shortcut.
It has groups. You can open many pages once.
Favorites improved. You can open all links in a favorites folder once. You can add a link by clicking the favorites folder you want, and just say Add URL here. And you can right click any favorites link and click Update by current URL
It has customized search. You can add any search engine or web page for searching. For ex. I've added a translator to search bar and I only drag the word over the search bar and it opens the translator web page with the word's meaning.
It has simple collector which you can add notes to Collector for future use. It keeps it in XML format.
It has URL Aliases. So you can assign aliases for web pages. For ex in my maxthon typing "ae" opens americanexpress.com.
It has URL keys. For ex F4 opens google.com in my maxthon
It has everything I need and more...
I strongly recommend this browser for who likes shortcut and speed!!
Thanks a lot Maxthon, you are making my life easier and faster
Cons: It doesnt regular Google Toolbar but you can search google by default search bar.
It doesnt support Google Notebook. But it has Collector inside.

Version: Maxthon 1.5.9 build 80
"Four years from now, this will be IE 8"
Pros: 1. Built over the IE engine, so any page displays right. 2. The only fully-thought-out tabbing display, >100 tabs if you want.3. More ways than you would dream of to perform common actions faster. 4 Highly and intelligently configurable.
Cons: Practically no Help, but you can gather information from the Web site.
