This suite combines Registry repair, privacy, Internet, and RAM tools with an emphasis on automatic operation. Max PC Booster's clean, professional, and logical interface offers the user as much detail as requested, but defaults to an almost invisible operation. The Help manual is concise, clear, and written with the inexperienced user in mind. The installation process needs an overhaul, though. Standard user options such as selecting the installation directory aren't available. Advanced users may find the program lacking in expected options overall.
Operating Max PC Booster is primarily controlled through the program setup. Users choose which options are automatically invoked and on what schedule. A few clicks set Registry and Privacy Cleaners; plus Internet and RAM Optimizers to operate daily, weekly, hourly, or every few minutes. The application can't schedule the functions separately. The Registry Cleaner follows the common model for the genre. Users choose from 15 Registry scan options. Repair and backups are automatic. Registry Defrag and Startup Program Management options are included. The Privacy cleaner offers nothing above most major cleaners, erasing Windows, browser, Yahoo, and ICQ Messenger privacy data. The Internet Optimizer alters nine options. Each is well explained, but understanding the ramifications requires the knowledge of an experienced user. The RAM tool offers a simple slider of expected memory to free after optimization.
Advanced users looking for greater control over functionality should skip this application. Max PC Booster's suite of tools is best utilized by those looking for a set and forget program.

"Hijacks Browser, Awful Support"
Pros: I suppose it cleans up the registry. Then again, how could one tell? It also cleans up temporary internet files and cookies so be careful the first time you run a scan because cookies contain your "remember me" data for sites like this one.
Cons: It hijacks your browser, nagging every time it performs a scan to "tell a friend" by opening a webpage. All you get in reply to an email is an automated response suggesting that you include a scan log to make it easier for them to trace the problem.
Summary: I suspect this is probably an OK product, though I have a problem with any company that feels it necessary to put advertisements in front of me without my permission (and a page suggesting I tell a friend is an advertisement). It's a cheap sales t... read more >>
