"Good book if you need one"
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
lots of recipes
Cons
I already have Master Cook, the original, and this was overkill for me.
Summary
If you didn't have a good resource for recipes, this is worth a review.

"Strange Pop Up with Install"
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
wasn't able to install so I don't know any pros
Cons
While downloading it put a flash popup that I couldn't get rid of no matter what I did unless I stopped the download. So I stopped the download and it went away.

"Wasn't able to tell from a 60 MINUTE FREE TRIAL!?!?!"
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
It looks interesting, but the trial is just stupid.
Cons
I've never even heard of a 60 minute trial. How about a 30 day trial or something reasonably standard.
-
"Try out is only 30 min., but that's all you will need"
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
Big Oven always gets the best reviews but I have found it difficult to search, then when you find a recipe you like it is difficult to save it and find it again. Master Cook is VERY user friendly, has online recipes and an EASY way to add your own.
Cons
Haven't found any yet
Summary
After wasting money on Accuchef and Big Oven, I've finally found what I want.

Cons

"Previously owned this on another computer and loved it."
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
This is my favorite program for creating a cookbook of my own. You enter the ingredients and it even gives a total breakdown of the nutritional value of the recipe. I have all my favorite recipes at my fingertips on the computer.
Cons
I had problems with the emailing of recipes. I have never figured out how to make it work.
Summary
Overall, this is a great program. I like it more than any program I have tried. For the most part, it is simple to use and very versatile.
-
"Excellent for recipe management, storing several hundred of my personal recipes"
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
Bargain - bought it for under $20, and converted from MicroKitchen (Lifestyles).
Very pleased with MasterCooks' GUI, and appreciate its reliablilty.
I haven't found anything better for value.
Cons
Some funtions like email content not intuitive; requires effort.
-
"Only 30 minute trial--not nearly enough time to evaluate."
Version: MasterCook Deluxe 9
Pros
I'm deciding whether to upgrade my MasterCook 3.0 which has several features I like, ability to see the entire month's meal plan, for one and great nutritional information secondly.
Cons
With just a 30 minute trial, not the 60 as advertised, you hardly have time to find your way around, it's not very intuitive for this experienced software user. I had time to open it, glance through the preferences, enter a couple of recipes (not nearly as easily as with BigOven) and then BAM, time's up.
