ManyCam is the freeware tool for you if you use both CamFrog and ICQ, or any other video chat program, and you want to use them simultaneously. It creates a "virtual" Webcam that replicates your currently installed camera. It then lets multiple applications access the video stream without conflict.
ManyCam is compatible with Yahoo, MSN, CamFrog, PalTalk, ICQ, Skype, YouTube, and more. Once you've installed ManyCam, you need to set ManyCam as the primary input for program that you want to use. ManyCam will automatically start when activate your Webcam through that program. The application includes a bunch of gimmicky features that let you change aspects of the background and foreground. You can map a new pair of cartoon eyes over your face, and they track pretty well to your movements, or you can show that your life is hell by replacing the background with flames.
There is an unfortunate toolbar that will install unless you opt out during setup, but other than that ManyCam is worthy of a Webcam Oscar for cool and useful tech.

Version: ManyCam Virtual Webcam 2.4.39
"It works and its easy to use"
Pros: Very little (if any) set up required, and it's free. Lots of features. Enables incompatible webcams to be used with Yahoo Messenger.
Cons: Logo on screen, but that's the price you pay for it being free. I imagine paying for it will enable you to remove it.
Summary: If anyone has seen most of my other reviews, I'm pretty scathing of software that's badly written or doesn't live up to its promise. However, this worked perfectly.
I had a cheap webcam that refused to work with the Yahoo Messenger due... read more >> -
Version: ManyCam Virtual Webcam 2.4.39
Pros: Very easy to use. Good set of features and effects. Low on the CPU
Cons: A few nagging bugs, like the "ManyCam.com" text that shows up everytime you start the tool and there's no way for you to set it up for not coming back. Fine tuning controls are nothing but the standard ones that come with Windows.
Summary: This is the best webcam app I tried so far.

Version: ManyCam Virtual Webcam 2.4.39
"Easy to Use and Best of All FREE"
Pros: I purchased WebCamMax and downloaded ManyCam as well as SplitCam just to compare. ManyCam did everything WebCamMax did that I need except having a video record feature. It does so using less of my CPU and even adds the extra zoom features
Cons: Would like it to recorde, but can easily do that with another program.
Summary: A Must Check Out if you're considering a virtual webcam application.
