Make Mine MPEG-4 for Mac

From Doug's AppleScripts:

This AppleScript applet automates the process of importing CD Tracks and encoding them as MPEG-4 files using QuickTime 6 Pro. The tracks are then added to your iTunes Library.

MPEG-4 allows for higher quality audio at smaller bit rates -- and thus, smaller file sizes.

Be sure to examine the updated Read Me.

What's new in this version:

  • ripping is now handled by QuickTime which precludes the need for intermediate AIFF files (which also eliminates a potential Finder problem some users were experiencing)
  • temporary folder now incorporates name of the CD
  • detects if files have been automatically copied to iTunes' designated Music folder
  • updated the Read Me
  • download includes version 1.4 which works with pre-Jaguar versions of Mac OS X
