Editors' review

Although it works well for checking multiple e-mail accounts from remote locations, MailWasher Pro isn't the most convenient antispam tool. The program installs easily and walks you through configuring your e-mail account information. Once operational, it periodically checks your e-mail without deleting it from the server, giving you a quick look at what's waiting for you.

When you're ready to reply to your e-mail, just click the Mail Program button, and your default e-mail client will launch. MailWasher Pro won't let you select other e-mail clients other than your default. It includes solid antispam tools, including a whitelist, a blacklist, and the ability to compare e-mail with a large database of known spam. It even includes some rudimentary virus checking. The interface is easy to use and makes checking your e-mail quick and painless.

Although we like the program's antispam tools, it doesn't integrate with any e-mail client, making spam-checking and replying to e-mail a two-application process, unlike some other antispam tools that filter e-mail right in your default client. However, if you have personal accounts you check periodically from work, or other situations wherein you don't need the most efficient e-mail access, MailWasher Pro works nicely.

    "Never Trust Firetrust"

    August 01, 2012   |   By sarge324

    Version: MailWasher Pro 2012 1.20

Old version works good, visually appealing, and honored lifetime license, for a while...

The company reneged on their lifetime license they sold to thousands of customers, then claimed the program was re-written but failed to make a substantial name change (added "2011" to the end of the "Mailwasher Pro" name), now they rent the program to you. the "new" version is much less visually appealing that the "old" version.

I don't care how well the new version might work (I tried it and was not impressed) I'll just never spend another dime on any product Firetrust produces. I've tried to reason with the owner, but he is unreasonable, and dishonorable. They get an "abysmal" rating mostly for their poor customer service and greedy pricing practices.
