From Firetrust :MailWasher is a program to help you get rid of spam and viruses in your e-mail. MailWasher allows you to preview all aspects of your e-mail on the server before you download it to your computer, thus protecting you from spam, viruses, phishing attacks, and other nuisances. You can then delete unwanted e-mail before it gets to you. Other features help identify and protect you against viruses and worms. Also included are comprehensive, customizable filters, use of friends list, and blacklist to stop spammers. Version 5.1 is a bug fixing release.

Pros: The best thing about this is its ease of set up.Fantastically easy to do.Shows message subject,from whom its coming etc then gives you option of bouncing(sending back to try and make the spammers think your email address is not in use)or deleting or accepting the email etc.
Cons: Wish it would automatically delete at server those emails sent from adresses already blacklisted.(Im guessing it may do this in the paid for version)

"I use the MailWasher 1st, before download my email from mail server."
Pros: I recommend, if you hate spam mail.
1. Easy to use
2. Don't worry about free license key or renew it
3. Little application
4. Smart filters email
5. Fast, real free
Cons: 1. It's not have options to import - export Blacklist, export Friends List, but you can find friends list, blacklist in Documents and Settings folder in text file, it's hard to find. I don't understand why Firetrust don't keep it in MailWasher folder.

3. Banner ad.

"Free version really helps bring spam under control"
Pros: (I orginally wrote the following as a reply to a negative review below)
If you spend some time with it, you'll find it's actually quite valuable, even in the free version. For example, even though the preview panel is disabled, you can double-click any email & preview it in a pop-up window. The handy side panel for maintaining whitelist, blacklist, etc. is disabled -- but it's accessible from the Option menu item. there are plenty of available options in the free version -- e.g., take a look at the Display tab where you can customize how it shows the list. And so forth. While it's true that it will only handle one email account at a time, there is nothing to stop you from changing which one that is, so you can move from one to the next.
Of course, if you want the full power, you can always pay for the upgrade, but it's still useful in the free version. And, no, I don't work for or have anything else to do with the company that makes it. Just a reasonably happy user of the free version.
