This attractive program provides a functional set of system tools, though we wouldn't call any of them magic. Magic Utilities 2006 includes an uninstaller, a start-up manager, and a process killer, the latter of which is similar to Windows' Task Manager. We can't complain about the program's straightforward, attractive interface, which can be spruced up with one of three included skins. It's handy this suite marks new programs and start-up items in red, and though the Process Killer displays overall memory and CPU usage, it doesn't tell you how many resources individual processes are using. In our tests, all of this application's tools worked just fine, and didn't appear to exact a toll on our PC's resources. The only hitch is the program marked Microsoft Antispyware as dangerous. Even though it doesn't do anything revolutionary, Magic Utilities 2006 makes a decent pick for beginners who want to control their computer's applications with one program.
