HTML capability allows you to send combined HTML and plain text messages, and HTML Import from web greatly simplifies sending HTML messages. Attachments are automatically encoded and can come from a field in your database. Each person can get a different attachment. Message filtering allows you to send to just the customers you intend, using contents of your database.
- Also includes PopMonger, an inbound email handling utility, to conduct confirmed opt in management, manage failed messages, unsubscribe requests, auto replies, and redirection. You can process these requests and also catch personal replies too.
- For larger enterprises, Mach5 Mailer Gold also includes the capability for powerful scripting using VBasic, JScript, and PHP. Can connect to any database via ODBC, will inline graphics with your HTML, and includes SOCKS Proxy support. Great for enterprises, you can program the content of each individual message and even open separate database connections for each message Mailer sends.
- With ODBC support, Mailer can connect to any database that supports this common standard. Even over the internet or across your LAN.

The FREE license is limited to sending 200 emails at a time, and appends the message 'Powered by Mach5 Mailer' to the end of each message. There is no limit to the number of times Mailer is run, and the FREE license never expires.

If you use the free version, you are limited to 200 names and it inserts a signature line advertising the company and its product.

Advertised as free, whereas it's a lame trial which only sends 200 mails. Doesn't seem any better than it's competitors. Leave well alone.

Excellen B.S. exhorting the features it supposedly has, but the statement that it is free is a lie!
Cons
You only find out the truth that what you downloaded is a 30 DAYS TRIAL VERSION, after its installation messed up your Windows Registry. It takes hours to manually restore the Registry after you uninstalled this trial version. Unless you are ready to buy the product of a software vendor who FUDGES THE TRUTH, or willing to spend hours to restore your damaged registry after you uninstalled this 30 days trial version, STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!!!

"Easy to use, works well, good customer service but some useability holes"

- easy to use and understand
- it just works
- great preview feature
- good link with PopMonger for unsubscribe requests and bouncebacks
- company respond well to emails in my experience
- great deals for not for profit organisations
Cons
- logging! It is not very good at keeping a record of which emails have gone to which recipients
- sometimes the instructions are not clear and you have to hit and hope that you won't be sending the mass mail at that point (generally safe though)
- you can't easily switch to other applications or open multiple sessions at once

Pros
Useful for sending out large quantities of email through its ability to interface with a database. Each message is composed individually so you don't get a giant cc list. Customers feel the mail is more personal.
Cons
Powerful means there are lots of options. They're not terribly confusing, but there are lots of things you can change. Con or Pro?
